Got sent one of those emails today... where you are supposed to send it to however many friends and something good will happen to you. At the risk of sounding like a kill joy (or a grumpy old woman), I'm really not into those things - I dislike them intensely. They are like junk mail from people you know and respect - weird. But, I got one today and I opened it (I like to give the senders the benefit of the doubt) and I'm so glad I did. Maybe its because I'm in love (yes... again) but it really spoke to me. So rather than send it to my friends as instructed, I thought I'd share it with the entire world... enjoy!
"As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.
You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken.
You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin."
Click on the picture above to enlarge it - its a wonderful image.
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
How cool is that? The bit that (perhaps unsurprisingly) resonated most with me was the penultimate sentence... 'love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.' Like I said, I'm in love. I resisted it for a while because its not long since I was 'heart broken', but I didn't stay upset too long because I remembered what I have learnt about the Universe in recent years...
Those times when 'things go wrong' or the unexpected happens and it appears to be 'not good', just remember that you live in time and space so can't see the big picture. If you could, then you would see that this thing you think is 'not good' is in fact 'just perfect' and just evidence that the Universe is working its magic and lining things up perfectly for you to have what you really want. In other words (and this is the mantra I stuck to at the time), there is something altogether better on its way, just around the corner.
I think he may have arrived, but it's scary to let go and 'feel'. Those words help reassure me that its right to surrender to the Universal power and trust and love like I've never been hurt. :o) (sigh)
