I can often be heard unashamedly boasting that my web and blogsites generally achieve and sustain a Google Page Rank (or PR) of 4 which is higher than a few self-proclaimed 'online marketing experts' I could mention. Clients and friends that follow my marketing advice quickly see their ranking improve too. One friend went from 0 to PR3 within weeks of her website going live.
So why is that even important, and what does 'Google Page Rank' mean anyway?
Put simply, it's how important Google deems your site (or pages on your site) to be, in the world wide web scheme of things. The higher your page rank, the more likely it is that your site will come up on the first page of the organic Google results (ie. not the 'paid for' Sponsored Links) when your 'meta tag' keywords are searched.
Eg. Google wellbeing coach and you'll see my health and wellbeing coaching site(www.LiveInEssence.com) listed at position # 7 - click here to see.
(Interestingly, google "wellbeing coach" (with quote marks) and it disappears, but my name still comes up in positions 7, 8 and 9, albeit on other domains and servers, and with links to www.LiveInEssence.com
Blogging can contribute to your page rank score, but it's unlikely to do it unless you get plenty of valid external links coming back into your blog or blogsite.
I intend to run a teleclass on these topics (Google Page Ranking, meta tags, keywords etc.) sometime later this year. My aim will be to make it as simple as possible using layman's terms. Any jargon I do use will be explained clearly. By the end of the call, you will know exactly what to do to improve your ranking and relevant search results.
