Dear all... I am frustrated and unreasonably embarassed to report that I am still not back in the land of the (online) living. Despite having ordered my phone line on the 1st of December, BT have failed to install it. Actually, they have failed 5 times. I have been given dates of 14/12, 16/12, 22/12, 5/1 and 12/1 but I now realise that when BT gives you a date it doesn't actually mean jack shit. Do I sound annoyed? Sorry. But this is my livelihood we are talking about here. They know this too. So I'm encouraged to think that they are doing everything humanly possible to sort this fiasco out - even if it looks and feels like they don't actually give two hoots.
My local MP is involved now. She's written to the National BT Manager apparently which is great. It would appear that he hasn't had the courtesy to respond as yet though. But you know, 'urgent' to a BT person is, evidently, different from 'urgent' to the rest of us, so what's another week amongst 6, eh?
I am doing my best to catch up with emails via cafes (like now), but I'm struggling with the sheer volume of spam that has build up after a month offline and anyway, this is of no help to clients who are waiting for me to book them in for my 'blogsite for business' service, so...
if you want to contact me urgently, please call my office receptionist on +44 (0) 8704 584 364. She can text me your number and I can return your call - usually within 5 minutes. If you are thoroughly unimpressed and inconvenienced by this untenable situation, please do drop me a line telling me so, so that I can add your email to my compensation claim against BT once I file it.
Be back online very, very soon I hope.
PS. Did you know there is a whole website dedicated to other people who are disgruntled with BT - called BTsuck.org!
