Video Tutorial for Business Bloggers #1 - How to Resize Images Without Special Software

One of my very recent projects, is the wonderful Thinking Blossoms blog for Judy Barber around her passion for photographing flowers. Cleverly, she is using it to promote her business by posting beautiful shots around which she can tell a coaching story. Anyway...

Crucial to her blog model is the ability to take photos from her camera and get them onto the blog. One of the challenges she faced was that the size of the pictures straight from the camera was waaaaay to large to upload to a blog post. Apart from the filesize issue, most people's screen sizes would prevent them from seeing the entire picture if she simply uploads them as is. On top of that, some of the pictures were taken with the camera on its side, so images would also be on their side.  Judy needed to find a way to resize, flip and rotate her images without buying or downloading any special software and/or learning what to do with it.  She asked me to look into it and then prepare her some kind of step-by-step instructions.

Music on your business blog/site - good or bad?

Remember the conversation we were having back in March - Instant Audio - Love it or hate it?  I was basically saying it was 'a bad thing' and that I back out of any sites that do that. Business blog/site owners need to consider that - particularly if they are seeking to build relationships and rapport - key business blogging benefits.   

So why then have I included instant audio on the Zillo Records blog? 

Well, apart from the fact that I love breaking rules, there is some method in my madness...

Anyway, Coaching Wizardry's Joanna Young spotted my apparently contrary move and the conversation's started all over again. Find out why I've done it and then tell us what you think.

Is this one of the few instances when instant audio is right? Or do the same rules apply whatever your business?   

Business Blog Angel returns...

Well hello!.. remember me?.. Business Blog Angel?.. sorry it's been so long since I last posted: combination of a bad back, lots of exciting business blogging projects and another impending house move have been keeping me away from my own blog lately.

The projects I've been working on have all received my usual high standard of service, but I have a number of clients at the moment who have been waiting far too long for proposals, invoices and slots. Generally speaking, it's considered 'a bad idea' to admit to your weaknesses in business - particularly publicly like here on a blog - but I feel the need to offload my unrest about the situation and here seems as good a place as any.

So what am I doing about it?
